Mark Stirl
Vice President & Controller
Mr. Stirl joined Milagro Exploration LLC in December, 2007 as Vice President Controller. Prior to Milagro Exploration LLC, Mr. Stirl was with Peoples Energy Production Company and served as their Vice President Controller. Mr. Stirl was also with BHP Billiton and served in various accounting and finance functions for the company, the last year being the Manager of Finance for the Lower Green Canyon deep water projects. Prior to BHP Billiton, Mr. Stirl was with CMS Oil and Gas Company as their Vice President – Controller. After the sale of the company, he joined Dunhill Resources as their Controller. From 1980 through mid-1997 Mr. Stirl worked for Sonat Exploration Company in Houston in various accounting and financial functions, including the last seven years as their Controller. Mr. Stirl began his career in public accounting concentrating in auditing and consulting.
Mr. Stirl received a BSBA degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, both from the University of Houston. He is a member of the Houston Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
